The January 12 & 13 Theriault auctions were big doll events that started off the new year with a bang. This was really a phenomenon, and not just an auction. It drew the interest of many from two diverse areas of doll collecting — connoisseurs of antique dolls and of the earlier phase of cloth and composition dolls by Madame Alexander. Theriault’s followed a long time tradition of hosting this January event in Southern California. This time, the mixed energy of two high profile collections and collectors was unique and even contagious. The crossover was intriguing as antique and Alexander collectors were visiting both auctions. A common element shared by both collections was the personal vision of the collectors who built them. This helped form an outline that both used to harness their vision and passion for their unique collections. Some of the realized prices were eye popping, and went to both American and international bidders. Preparing for the Royal Baby
a Very Specific Color Scheme

Don't expect to see any baby pink or baby blue. Apparently, it's going to be a monochrome palette—whites and grays, I'm told, will be the color theme for baby Sussex's nursery."
